Meet Debbie Robinson, Owner of D's Gift Locker

Meet Carol Walker, Owner of Crafts At Work.
I have always made clothes, soft furnishings and gifts from being young for the enjoyment of making. Usually the things I make have a working purpose which inspired my business name. My products give a channel for my creative side and while they may not be works of art, I like that most people can afford them and gives them a chance to own a one off piece.

Meet Carrie Hunt, Owner of Carrie Hunt Pottery.
I make good-looking, hard-wearing stoneware ceramics for real people to use everyday and for giving as gifts. My pots are wheel-thrown and hand-built and I make use of colourful slips and glazes for decoration and hard wear.
I am happy to take commissions and also to teach people who would like to have a go at pottery on a one-to-one basis. It is all the more so, as failed attempts can all be recycled - that's the flexibility of clay!

Meet Kirsty, Owner of Fairymoo Doodles.
My name is Kirsty and by trade I am an illustrator/Artist based in Hull. Most of my ideas for my work come from doodling and I’m finding recently that my most popular pieces are the ones I have the most fun making. I make greeting cards, lino prints, local photography prints, digital and acrylic paintings.
I’ve always had a love of drawing and painting and being able to share this with other people is what inspired me to start making my products. I love creating new pieces, it makes me happy and I also love it when my work brings a smile to other people's faces.

Meet Julie, Owner of Fwootpot Ceramic.
My range covers a variety of ceramic pieces, from small 2d horses and sheep, bowls of many sizes, coasters with various designs up to large, unique hand built items.
As a lover of the unusual, I tried to create pieces that nudge a reaction from the viewer, strange, scary, sinister, weird and cute(?) being just a few of the more regular comments.

Meet Nicola Lambert, Owner of CherryPips.
I’ve always loved arts and crafts. My favourite childhood TV programmes were Vision On and Blue Peter. Like many other children of my generation, I spent hours making things out of almost next to nothing!
I think carefully about the materials I use in my work and incorporate up-cycled materials as often as possible. It’s great to give something that might be old, worn and discarded a second chance to shine.

Meet Jenna Zunder, Owner of JZ Designs.
I am Jenna Zunder, I call my little business JZ Designs. I like to draw and doodle and paint, so I create little pieces from these. I mainly make cards, prints and more recently notebooks. I make these by hand or print them myself. It gives me a hobby which I love.
My Mum has always been very crafty and I have always thought of her as being able to do anything she tried to do and I wanted to be like her. Whilst being very ill I started to doing making my cards as it gave me an outlet that was fun and positive but not too strenuous. As I have got better I have been able to increase my creativity so hopefully I will have more products to come soon.
I love that what I see as little doodles others see as something special enough to buy. It is very rewarding.

Meet Leanne Thompson - Founder of Looby’s World of Creative Makes.
I am a crafter specialising in designing personalised goods using a wide range of materials, my products are all original and I really welcome the challenge of creating personalised items for people.
When I started making hair accessories such as slides, bobbles and ribbons for my own 3 daughters, people would comment on how beautiful they were and asked if I could make some for them. As my youngest daughter became fond of fairies, elves and such like I started to experiment by making bespoke items, lots of people would ask me to make things for them & so Looby’s World was born.
I have a real passion for creating new things and get a real buzz when I see a new material to work with.
